In late 2016, five key partners; Decatur County Community Foundation, Decatur County Tourism, Economic Development Corporation of Greensburg/Decatur County, Greensburg-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, and Main Street Greensburg joined the City in developing a vision for the future, with the results presented to the community in early 2017. These efforts led to a Stellar communities application and selection as a Stellar Finalist for 2017 which included funding for a Strategic Investment Plan (SIP.) While the City was not awarded the Stellar designation, the SIP continues to drive major efforts to accomplish its objectives and transform the quality of life in Greensburg.
